San Angelo was the Wool Center of West Texas and therefore has over 100 sheep scattered throughout Downtown! You may view most of them here!

 

 

San Angelo State Park

 

San Angelo State Park home to both Official State of Texas Bison & Longhorn herds, a bird watching blind (building!) as well as camping, cabins, fishing, hiking.

 

 

In addition to San Angelo, there is much to see an do within a short distance drive! Christoval, Texas offers Hummer House, Christoval Winery, and the Mt. Carmel Hermitage. Another winery is located at Grape Creek, TX. East of San Angelo are ancient petroglyphs @ Painted Rock, TX. Bend Bend National Park is less than 5 hours away. The sights and sounds of Austin, San Antonio, Lubbock, and even Waco and Dallas/Ft. Worth are a mere 200 miles away. Abilene is just 90 miles while Midland/Odessa is about 135 miles away. San Angelo is a Whole Vacation in one spot!
